"Wine Awakenings is a much needed education
tool that will greatly assist the consumer in better understanding
the not so subtle nuances in the art of wine sensory evaluation.
Clearly articulated, easy to follow, affordable and can also add
some fun to assist in 'verbalizing' the complicated science of wine"

"My students find these standards
to extremely helpful in understanding what those mysterious wine
descriptions mean. Oak, Geranium, Currants.... all just words until
they have a smell. I find the Wine Awakenings Kits to
be an invaluable teaching tool.

"Wine Awakenings takes all the
adjectives used by us professional wine writers and concentrates
them into little bottles, so you can sniff and learn. Get the cabernet
kit, with aromas such as black olive, herbaceous and smoky/toasty.
I've sniffed them myself. The Wine Faults kit includes several examples
of the smell of bad wines: oxidized, geranium, nail polish remover
and the dreaded "Brett" (any wine that smells like a baseball
player, even a Hall of Fame third baseman, is obviously flawed).
